Colonie Restaurant Opens In Brooklyn Heights
Being located in New York City exposes us to unimaginable amounts of greatness on a daily basis, but there’s nothing like finding the small hidden gems when you’re walking through the charming streets of Brooklyn Heights on a warm spring day! This small gem, wont be small for long because the food is fantastic, the staff smiles are welcoming, and the Brooklyn friendly sustainable interior design of Colonie will be a treat its neighbors will never let go of.
Colonie recently opened its doors after local architect Alex Meyers of Mad Design had his way with the space. Meyers objective was to take rustic barn materials and fuse them with new minimalistic elements to bring a family style meal setting to a refined barn space. Since New York based Meyers is familiar with local products he was able to find reclaimed wood to use on the ceiling, floors, and custom table tops, recycled church pews redone for seating, and a stunning antique mirror over the bar which was rescued from the well known old Toy Building in Manhattan.
